(재해) 중국 대형 지진 또다시 발생

Tonight on World News, tears in China. Another giant earthquake. This one in a Chinese region where nearly every building and home has collapsed. From ABC News, this is ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. Good evening. We begin with a kind of headline that makes us all say “Not again.” Another huge earthquake, this one a 6.9, has ripped찢다 its way through China. Emergency workers are having to climb 13,000 feet in one region to reach the countless people

in shattered엄청 충격을 받은 homes and buildings. Our correspondent in China Clarisse Ward takes us to the scene.

Scene after scene of utter완전한 devastation. Houses flattened. Stunned and bruised survivors sift through샅샅이 살피다 rubble with their hands. Rescuers equipped with nothing more than shovels. It was 7:49 AM when the quake hit this remote community of farmers and yak herders. In a town of Jegu near the epicenter진앙지, more than 85% of the buildings have collapsed. Most made simply of wood and mud, not designed to withstand the strong quake. And there are stories reminiscent연상시키는 of China’s 2008 earthquake which killed more than 80,000 people including thousands of children in poorly constructed schools.

The Chinese news agency reports 56 students killed today when thir schools collapsed. Hospitals were woefully한심한 underequipped to deal with thousands of injured. We’re scared, says this survivor, so we’re all camping outside and waiting for more tents. The government here has deployed 5000 soldiers, firefighters and medical workers to help relief efforts. But reaching the devastated areas is challenging. Yushu is mountainous and remote, some 13,000 feet above sea level and 500 miles from the provincial capital. The roads are primitive원시적인 and many have been damaged. On a good day, it can take 12 hours to drive there.

As rescue efforts continue through the night, a glimpse of hope, a girl rescued from deep in debris. But with fierce winds and temperatures plunging below freezing tonight, there are also concerns for the survivors. Thousands of whom have lost their homes today and have no shelter. Diane?
