And then it was just about 18 minutes after that attack, another plane appears and also flies directly into the second of the twin towers. That aircraft later identified as a Boeing 757, belonging to United Airlines. It had been hijacked <선박, 항공기 따위를> 납치하다 while it was on route 도중에 from Boston to Los Angeles. We knew that some of what happened this morning… that there could be another attack on the World Trade Center… that was 8 years ago, that terrorists might attack the Pentagon <미> 국방부 and hijack commercial flights.
But how could we imagine that all this could happen, that much of the government would be shut down, the Capitol 국회 의사당 of United States evacuated 피난, 대피하다 and the White House that the President of the most powerful nation in the world would take evasive action 대피하다 for his own security.
Across this nation, from airports close down to home to workplace, we watched and tried to comprehend 파악하다, 이해하다 what we were seeing.
