First the car bomb in the Big Apple. New York mayor Michael Bloomberg says his city has avoided what could have been a very deadly event! Police evacuated Time Square last night after discovering a car bomb in a Nissan Pathfinder abandoned with its engine running and its emergency lights flashing!

 

This is a Fox news alert from New York, I am Merry Enrepharty!  New York governor Favid Patterson now described the failed Time Square car bomb as “an act of terrorism!” Earlier the mayor of NYC confirmed that a car bomb was found in a smoking SUV in Time Square. Police fpund the device in a Nissan Pathfinder last night. Time Square was closed down most of the night, but it since reopened. The mayor spoke earlier this morning at a news conference along with NY police commissioner RAKE KELLEY! Police commissioner KELLY also says the car contained 3 propane tanks, consumer grade fireworks, 2 filled 5 gallon gasoline containers and 2 clocks with batteries, also some electric wire and other components. He says a black metal box resembling a gun locker was also recovered. The smoking SUV that contained the explosive device was found as tens of thousands of people were strolling around Time Square. Authorities say a Connecticut license plate on the vehicle did not match up! So they are now looking at surveillance video hoping it will lead them to those responsible for this act!
