Good evening, everyone. Congress demanded answers today about what could become the worst offshore oil spill in US history. What it got was finger pointing,As executives of 3 companies involved in the disaster blamed one another! 3 weeks ago, an offshore rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded killing 11 workers before sinking,and causing the leak that continues to gush tonight! The slick is constantly shifting pushed by air and sea currents. It’s drifted north, then west and is now seeping(스미다) into Louisiana’s marshes(습지) and barrier islands(보초도).Congressional correspondent Nancy Cortis begins our coverage with the blame game on capitol hill.
The president of BP America may have taken responsibility today.“We will carry out our responsibilities”But he wasn’t about to take all the blame. “BP as a least holder and the operator of the well, Hard Trans Ocean to drill that well.” That didn’t seat well with the head of Trans Ocean who was seated just next to him! He signaled that the massive explosion may have stem from a mistake made by a subcontractor, HALLIBURTON! “These events occurred after the well construction process essentially complete!” The HALLIBURTON executive sitting next to him pointed the finger back at BP!
All 3 companies worked together on the doomed deep water horizon! Oil giant BP hired HALLIBURTON to seal the undersea well with cement in preparation for drilling, leasing the rig above it from Trans Ocean, The world largest offshore drilling company!
