Tonight an international backlash after a deadly raid. Israeli commandos stormed ships carrying aid for Palestinians. Good evening, Kittie is off tonight. It all happened so quickly, but the damage might be long lasting. An Israeli naval raid turned deadly today setting off protests across the Middle East and Europe. Israeli commandos stormed several ships carrying 10,000 tons of aid to Palestinians. The 6 ships have been were not the challenge Israel’s 3 year naval blockade of Gaza. Suddenly there was gunfire. At least 9 pro Palestinian activists were killed and dozens of others wounded. 7 Israeli soldiers were also hurt! 600 people on the ships were taken into custody including up to 9 Americans.
Violent protests quickly followed in several cities. Israeli prime minister Venzamine Natenyhu was in Canada, but flew home cancelling tomorrow’s White House visit! President Obama said he regretted the loss of life and he urged a full investigation. Richard Roth tonight reports on What we know so far! By radio before dawn almost 80 miles off shore, Israel warned the convoy it wouldn’t be allowed to sail the GAZA. “You are approaching an area of hostilities which is under a naval blockade!”
