(여행) 여름휴가 싸게 가는 방법
Sky high. With summer almost here, airfares are going up, up, up. What can you do to save money? The summer travel season now is under way. You may be in for sticker shock비싼 가격에 받는 충격 when it comes to this year’s air fares. But with a little planning, there are some deals to be had. Our report tonight from NBC’s Chris Jansing.
The Walker family spent spring break at Disney Land. It’s a quick and inexpensive flight from home in northern California and they found a bargain. The question now is can they afford a summer vacation, too? The Walkers aren’t alone. After a year or two of belt tightening, recession weary travelers are looking to get away, but could face summer sticker shock. Travelocity.com estimates the average plane ticket for peak summer travel will cost 19% more, up from $391 last year to $465 this year.
Bookings are already up. And since cash-strapped재정난에 처한 airlines parked more than 500 jets over the past two years, that means more demand for fewer seats. Bargain hunters need to plan ahead and follow these simple rules. It almost always costs less to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday. Check alternate airports like Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami, Oakland instead of San Francisco. Stay in business hotels on the weekends, resorts during the week. And keep an eye out for sales, then book quickly.
Recently JetBlue twitted a limited number of seats from Long Beach, California to Salt Lake City, Utah for just $10. Now once you think you’ve found the cheapest deal, it isn’t over yet. Experts say check for hidden fees, and be prepared for some not so hidden hassles.귀찮은 상황 Not checking luggage saves time on both ends of your flight. And it can save you money, too with more airlines now charging for bags. For the Walkers, the equation방정식 is simple. “You’re looking for your value. So if you get it, you’re going to go on vacation. If you don’t, you’re not.” And this summer a little planning can go a long way toward a happy family vacation. Chris Jansing, NBC News, Los Angeles.
