But let’s begin this half hour with the dramatic end to a two year manhunt for the so called barefoot bandit. The 19-year-old fugitive’s taken into custody in the Bahamas on Sunday. Peter, good morning to you.

Matt, good morning to you. Dramatic is right. This chase ended before dawn early Sunday with shots fired by Bahamian police knocking out both engines. Colton Harrismoore was barefoot when he was marched off a plane and into a police SUV Sunday. Authorities in the Bahamas arrested the 19-year-old fugitive before dawn Sunday after shooting out the engines of his stolen boat as Harrismoore tried to make yet another escape, this time in Caribbean Waters.

For the so called barefoot bandit, the arrest ends a two year odyssey경험이 가득한 여정 that included more than 100 separate crimes in at least eight states, from Washington to Indiana. Harrismoore is accused of stealing cash, cars and at least five planes that he taught himself to fly including this one that investigators say the teenager stole in Indiana before crash landing at 1,000 miles away here in the Bahamas. He left behind this photo at one crime scene. Online, this fugitive has built a following with more than 70,000 fans on facebook. Now in custody, Harrismoore’s next trip could be an extradition flight home.

And this morning we’re learning new information about how that chase ended. Witnesses say that Colton Harrismoore threw his knapsack with an iPod and a laptop into the water that he also held his own gun up to his head, but that Bahamian police talked him out of it. Matt, his first court appearance isn’t scheduled until later this week because today is a national holiday. It’s Bahamian Independence Day.
