If you’re baseball fan, you probably know the great voice and you probably heard by now the Yankees lost a member of the team this weekend. Bob Sheppard, long time stadium announcer, dubbed the voice of god, he died this weekend. Three months shy부족한 of his 100th birthday. Fans heard the voice for over 50 years. He debuted on Mickey Mantle’s야구선수 first day as a Yankee. A family member told us today that Sheppard who was a navy officer in the pacific in World War II wrote his beloved wife a love letter every day. Robert Rio Sheppard was 99 years old.
If you’ve been to what we call the cathedral of baseball, Yankee Stadium, then you know one of the past times between innings is the full stadium sing along of YMCA with the grounds crew singing along. While the song will go on, it’s now officially the Y, nationwide they’re streamlining, saying goodbye to the full name, Young Men’s Christian Association. The village people put out a statement saying, they were, “deeply dismayed실망하다 by the name change.” They say, “We can help but wonder Y.”
And at long last, after 160 minutes of soccer, there was a goal and Spain won the World Cup. And the fans went wild. And tonight the fans continued to go wild. Hundreds of thousands of them in Madrid turned out to greet the conquering heroes. The big underwater hero of the games, Paul the octopus who on German TV picked the winning teams by choosing food in a certain box. He retired today with a great record.
And there was a great moment after the World Cup Game. This interview of Spain’s team captain by a reporter on Spanish TV. Well, you get the meaning there whether you speak Spanish or not. And it’s okay to kiss the reporter if she is your girl friend. Those two are indeed an item and the back story is he’d been under fire from fans who thought she was a distraction that it was affecting his play on the soccer field. So take that soccer fans.
