The shark scare. A great white captured right in front of America’s most popular coastlines sparking a new warning this holiday. From ABC News headquarters, this is ABC World News with Diane sawyer reporting tonight David Muir. We’re going to turn now to that shark warning tonight off the coast of New England and stretching all the way from New Jersey up to Maine. The coastguard urging swimmers and boaters there to use extreme caution when entering the water. The warning coming after a shark was caught off the coast of Massachusetts. And Rhondella Richardson of our affiliate WCDB is on the coast tonight. And Rhondella? We’ve been looking at pictures of the 7-foot shark. What has the coastguard so concerned tonight?

 

Well, that shark was seen about five miles off the tip of Cape Cod. That’s not very far if you think about it. And this holiday weekend, you had tens of thousands of people taking that perennial 영속하는pilgrimage 순례참배to the Cape and folks are very fascinated by the shark sightings. There’ve been an unprecedented number in the area dating back to last September. And the coastguard felt it was imperative긴요한 to give people the information, so they could make an informed decision about taking any risk.

 

And Rhondella? I know from my time reporting there next to you at Channel Five that one of the main concerns are the seals. Is that a concern again this year? Well, that’s what’s attracting the sharks. They love the big grey seals and grey seals are booming since they’ve been protected since 1970s. And anyone that happens to flap펄럭거리다 around and act as a seal, that shark could get as confused and go up to a person. You don’t want to take that risk. The coastguard is really urging people to stay away from the seal colonies, stay away from the sharks. It’s always so fascinating. Rhondella, great to see you.
