This is World News and tonight bate and switch, a startling ABC news investigation.

The difference between the fish you think you’re buying

and the fish you actually get!

In our test, out of 21 restaurants,

19 served something different than promised.

What to ask your `grocer`(식료품잡화점) to make sure you’re not being `duped`(속이다).

From ABC news headquarters, this is ABC World News with Diane Sawyer.

A Good Friday evening to you and the real shock about something that maybe on the dinner table tonight.

More and more of us are trying to be healthy and eat more fish

spending 80 billion dollars every year.

But ABC News investigated

and found 19 out of 21 restaurants we tested

sold us something other than the fish that was advertised.

And just today, consumer reports found in their own test,

wide spread fraud at restaurants and groceries.

ABC’s DAN HARRIS leads us off tonight!

You walk up to the supermarket fish counter

and pick out what you want!

“I will take that one!” But what are you really getting?

Consumer reports bought 190 pieces of seafood from super markets and restaurants

and sent them to a lab for a DNA testing!

More than a fifth of them were not as advertised.

“It’s fraud. Um, consumers shouldn’t be paying more money,

I mean, thinking they’re getting one kind and, and, getting something else!”

Fish labeled as Red Snapper붉돔 turned out to be the cheaper Ocean Perch.

Sole turned out to be SUTCHI catfish,

mostly imported from Vietnam,

where a consumer report says some fish farmer used drugs not approved here.

And one piece of grouper농어 turned out to be Tilefish옥돔

which has so much mercury that the government says pregnant women and children

shouldn’t eat it!

Fish fraud can be bad for your health and bad for your wallet

because you’re getting cheaper fish than you paid for!

And it’s not just at the supermarket.

ABC news collected samples described as White Tuna

from sushi restaurants in 3 cities and found that 19 of 22 samples turned out to be Escala,

a cheaper fish that can cause stomach cramps위경련 and other gastrointestinal위장의 problems.

It turns out 84% of our fish comes from overseas

and only 2 % of it is inspected

and less than 0.001 % is inspected for fraud.

People in the fish business have known about the fraud problem for years.
