Amazing rescue, the white knuckled겁에 질린 moment
unfolding on the side of a mountain late today!
A man, his dog? And you’ll see how this ended.
And to that white knuckled rescue playing out for much of the afternoon in the steep가파른 cliff out west!

ABC’s CRATEN SANDAL was there as this unfolded.
It started as a normal family hike
that an incident plunged 19 year old IVON SALIAS into a nightmare.
IVON was hiking along this ridge산등성이 with his brother and father
when his dad threw a bottle over the edge of a 300 foot drop!
That’s when LORA, a year old German shepherd mix fetched데리고 오다.
She slid down the side of a ravine협곡 150 feet from the bottom!
IVON tried to rescue her, then, needed his own rescue.
“The terrain지형 itself was very steep.”
35 firefighters responded as IVON and ROLA waited for 90 long minutes,
dangling precariously위태롭게 as rescuers inched closer on an unstable hillside.
They wanted to use a helicopter to hoist끌어올리다 them out,
but the wind from the rotor blades forced then to plan B!
“We were able to take members from the top of the ridge top,
repel down하강, secure the victim along with his dog and lower them to safety!”
Finally rescuers were able to get a harness마구를 채우다 and leash가죽 끈으로 묶다 on ROLA.
Then IVON and a rescuer slowly repel down.
They were unhurt!
We met IVON at the bottom of the ravine.
“How long were up there? Like 2 hours. 2 hours? How scary was it? Very scary!”
2 hours later, IVON was back in the arms of his family!.
Now IVON says he wants to take those firefighters and treat them to dinner.
He also says he will back in these hills soon. He says how he gets his daily exercise
and finally David, he says that if he had to go over the edge to rescue his dog,
