(긴급) 반미 정부 007 스캔들…. 미역사상 최대의 CIA 배신자

This is World News, tonight spy hunt. The man who revealed the nation’s top secrets on the run tonight, facing life behind bars! But did he act alone? Crackdown! Police and protestors battling in the streets! A critical American ally in turmoil tonight! And wild weather. Imagine seeing this through your windshield. The blinding sandstorm that created havoc on an American highway! From ABC news, world headquarters, this is ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. Good evening, we begin with a very serious version of international cat and mouse. A 29 year old American man responsible for a breach of some of the nation’s top secrets on the run tonight! As America’s top spies are tracking him, this man who says, he was once one of their own. ABC;s chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross takes us inside this high stakes hunt on the way right now, Brian!

Well, officials told ABC news tonight that prosecutors here are preparing formal criminal charges against Snowden under the espionage act which could mean life in prison, if caught and convicted. Snowden has not been seen since he left his luxury hotel in Hong Kong on Monday. And now it’s game on between the former intelligence insider and the spy agencies where he once worked! He has gone rogue. Snowden would know exactly how every phone call, credit card transaction, internet log on, airport checkpoint, every US surveillance program he revealed, could be used to track him! “He has said from the start, that he knows that once he made the choice to inform the public about these programs that all of his options were bad options.

Part of the life he left behind involves his long term girl friend, Lynsy Mills, a poll dancer and member of a Hawaiian acrobatic dance group with her own YouTube channel! She moved with him from Maryland to Hawaii and posted this picture of them at a new home just weeks before Snowden left for Hong Kong last month, leaving her in the dark and lost at sea without a compass as she wrote on her blog! Snowden told the Guardian Newspaper he sacrificed a lot to challenge the US. “You are living in Hawaii, in paradise,  and making a ton of money, what would it take to make you leave everything behind?”

Today in Washington, members of congress began a series of top secret briefing s about the program Snowden revealed and on GMA, he was roundly denounced by the speaker of the house. “He is the traitor. The president and I outlined last week that these are important national security programs to help keep Americans safe and to give tools to fight the terrorist threats that we face” Officials tell ABC news they are not convinced that Snowden acted alone, given that range of secret material he has made public. So every computer stroke he ever entered at the NSA is undergoing the most intense scrutiny tonight to see if there might be other undetected leakers still on the job Diane. Well, Brian let me ask you again, if he is convicted of espionage the allegations against him, the maximum is life in prison, so even though he is called a traitor, it’s not treason? It’s provision under the espionage act. The maximum penalty for him would be life in prison, not the death penalty !
