For a 5th straight day, students in California protested immigration policy 이민정책

prompting 자극하다, 촉구하다 police to enforce <법률 등을> 시행하다 truancy 무단결석 laws.

They demonstrated 시위운동<데모> 하다 in San Diego’s Chicano Park.

But there are no reports of any walkouts < 구어> 스트라이크, 동맹 파업 in Los Angeles

where police cracked down ~ 엄하게 단속하다 after tens of thousands of students

left class during the week.

 

President Bush says the US, Mexico, and Canada

must all cooperate to establish harmonization 일치, 화합 along their borders.

The president’s comments came at a news conference 기자회견 that wrapped up 마무리 짓다 a 2-day summit 정상회담

with Mexican President Vincente Fox

and Canadian Prime Minister 총리 Stephen Harper.

 

The city of New York has released 공개하다 recordings of calls

to 911 emergency operators 교환원 during the September 11th attacks.

Now this release is the result of a long legal battle.

The recordings contain the voices of the operators

and fire officials calling from the World Trade Center.

But no voices of the victims.

A desperate 필사적인 search for survivors is underway 진행중인 right now in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

More than 60 people have already been pulled out alive after that tour boat, carrying more than 130, capsized late Thursday.

At least one American is among the survivors.
