This morning, we are learning more about the alleged gunman’s unusual life as relatives of the victims speak out. “He took my own brother for me. He is the only brother that I had” Scary scene. A bus carrying college students back to school after the Thanks Giving holiday overturns in Virginia. At least 35 injured. That driver facing reckless driving charges this morning. And ready, set, click. Americans expected to spend three billion dollars on this Cyber Monday as Amazon shows off what they hope, will be the future of getting your packages quicker than ever. And good morning everyone, welcome to Today, on a Monday morning. We got thru Thanks Giving, we got thru Black Friday. I maybe too tired to click for Cyber Monday. 3 billion dollars. We’ll talk more about that a little while. But let’s start in a Monday morning with our top story. President Obama beginning his week in Paris attending a landmark conference on climate change. That city of course, still on edge following those deadly terror attacks. NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell is traveling with the president. Kelly, good morning to you!
Good morning, Matt. Security here is already very tight with emergency measures in place, just 2 weeks after the ISIS attacks here in Paris. That is not what brought President Obama to France, but it was the first thing on his mind. Arriving very early this morning, just after midnight, president Obama took advantage of the relative quiet and the empty streets of that early hour to make an unannounced stop at the scene of the deadliest violence. The BATACAN theater where he, the mayor of Paris and the President of France, all placed flowers at the memorial. Already this morning, the UN Climate Conference known as Cop 21 brought together 150 world leaders and they too, began by pausing to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks. And already today, president Obama has met with the president of China and while they did talk about climate change, he also urged the Chinese leader to do more in the fight against ISIS.
