It began on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25 with a simple mistake. The Kim’s missed a turnoff 분기점, <간선 도로의> 지선 도로 and took an alternate 다른, 대신의 road on their way to the Oregon coast. “The route was confusing. James had the driver’s door opened, so he could see because the snow was falling very hard.” At 2 am on Sunday morning, the 26th, with gas getting low, the Kim’s decided to stop at a fork <강, 도로 따위의> 분기점, 선택해야 할 하나의 길 in the road. “They stayed in the car, occasionally starting up ~을 시동시키다 to heat the car to stay warm.”
For the next 3 days, it kept snowing and raining. Then, on Wednesday the 29th, the weather started to clear. “Thursday, November 30th, they used a spare tire in the vehicle to start a fire.” The next day, Friday, December 1st, the Kim’s burned all four remaining tires. It ended Wednesday, December 6th, when searchers found his body. “James Kim did nothing wrong.
