Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet is dead one week after suffering a heart attack 심장발작, <특히> 심근경색. There were some celebrations in the streets of Santiago where Pinochet is accused of brutal human rights abuses 학대. The 91-year-old rose to power after a US-backed coup 쿠데타 and ruled from 1973 to 1990.

 

The Iraq study group report is unpopular with one Iraqi leader. Iraq’s Kurdish president is rejecting it, saying it would undermine <명성 등을> 몰래 손상시키다 the sovereignty 주권, 통치권 of Iraq as well as its constitution 헌법.

 

It turns out the San Francisco man who died in the cold Oregon wilderness walked 16 miles in search of help for his stranded 오도가도 못하는 family. That’s six miles farther than first thought. Searchers found James Kim’s body two days after his wife and two young daughters were rescued.

 

The space shuttle Discovery’s crew will dock <우주선이> 도킹하다 at the International Space Station Monday afternoon. Discovery took off Saturday on a 12-day mission to deliver an $11 million addition to the space lab.

The 91-year-old rose to power after a US-backed coup and ruled from 1973 to 1990. The Chilean government says 3,000 people were killed for political reasons under his rule. And thousands more were tortured or disappeared. After stepping down 사직하다, 은퇴하다 as president, Pinochet escaped hundreds of criminal and human rights complaints against him because of his declining 쇠퇴하는 physical and mental health. A memorial service 추도식 is planned for Tuesday.
