Al Gore for President?
It’s a good time to be Al Gore. "I was just at a party with him last night. I got less time with him than anybody else. I couldn't get near the guy. He was being crushed 찌부러진 by everybody. But, you know, he's our modern day Paul Revere 미국 독립혁명 때의 국민적 영웅. So I guess Paul Revere is our modern day rock star. It's Al Gore."
Their movie, an inconvenient truth, is up for two Oscars tonight. This week in Toronto, Gore's road show 순회공연, 특별상영 on global warming sold out as fast as a boy band would. “We can solve it. We will solve it.”
He’s organizing a huge concert event this summer, sort of like Live Aid 제 3세계의 부채탕감과 아프리카 기아퇴치를 위한 공연, but for global warming. And oh, yeah, he's up for a Nobel Peace Prize. "Al has struck, you know, the exact right chord 심금, 감정 in saying, 'Here's the science. Here's our contribution 공헌, 기여 to this problem and here's what we have to do about it,' and I think it's resonating."
It may be hard to remember, But this is the same guy who was pretty down in the dumps 기가 죽은, 우울한 after losing the 2000 election. “While I strongly disagree with the court’s decision, I accept it.” Gore gained weight, grew a beard 턱수염, disappeared for a while, then reappeared in a hot tub 욕조 on Saturday Night Live in 2002. “In some kind of metaphorical 말하자면 ~와 같은 Lock-box 어린이의 음란 프로 시청을 막기 위해 부착된 잠금 장치.” “Oh, my god!”
People said the skit 가벼운 풍자 was a sure sign he’d never think of running for 출마하다 president again. And even now, with the book and the movie, he repeatedly says he has no plans to run. "I don't expect to and…and can't foresee 내다보다, 예지하다 circumstances <일의>전후, 상황 in which I would."
