Now to Iraq where political tensions are high as leaders there struggle to agree on just who is gonna lead the new government. The Associated Press <미국의> AP 통신사 is reporting the Shiite Dawa Party <Jaafari 총리가 이끄는> 시아파 정당 is standing behind 지지하다 interim Prime Minister 임시총리, Ibrahim al-Jaafari. Sunnis in Kurds 쿠르드족, however, argued Shiite should pick another candidate 후보자 because al-Jaafari hasn’t stopped on-going sectarian violence 분파폭동. Iraqi officials postponed today’s parliament session, so parties could continue negotiating.

Meantime, there was another string of deadly attacks today in Iraq. One civilian was killed and 3 other people including an Iraqi soldier were hurt in a roadside bombing in central Baghdad. Police also found 18 bodies around the capital. All of them were shot in the head and showed signs of torture 심한 고통.

 

In central Ramandi, the governor’s compound came under fire 포화를 받다. Insurgents 폭도 peppered 퍼붓다, 연타하다 the area with rocket, mortar 박격포 and arms fire. One US marine was hurt in a suicide car bombing there. And 3 civilians were killed and 8 others hurt in northern Baghdad in fighting between Iraqi security forces and insurgents at a police station.
