토네이도에 마을 전체가 쑥대밭

Good evening. Greensburg, Kansas is a town that grew up over 120 years. In 10 minutes, it was destroyed 파괴하다. This is what Greensburg looks like from the air 하늘에서. Hard to believe that a bomb could’ve done more damage than a tornado. 10 dead without adequate 충분한 warning. It would’ve been worse. The fire trucks 소방차 in Greensburg, they are buried 매장하다 in rubble 잔해, 부스러기 and unusable. The roof on the Methodist Church 감리교회 is gone.

And this…this is what’s left of the gas station. An overturned truck sitting where the pumps <주유소의> 주유펌프 once stood. And this is the only thing left of the high school, the front door. ABC’s Mike Von Fremd is in Greensburg tonight. Mike? Charlie? The people here have finally gotten a chance to come face to face with the full extent of what they’ve lost. And it’s been an excruciating 극심한 고통을 주는 mix of emotions.

Thousands lined up at the crack of dawn 새벽녘에. Angry it’s taken days to be allowed to return. “I’m feeling sad. The way things look.” After 45 years of living here, they say it’s time to move on. “It’s gonna take too long to build it back. Too much energy. And we don’t have that much energy. At our age!”

For neighbor, Kathy Kelly, all her life possessions 소유물, 재산 are gone except for a book of family recipes <요리의> 조리법 and the rings on her finger. Still, she’s determined to stay. Instead of sorrow, most here today say they are just glad to be alive. Rebuilding this town will take years. “We’re gonna do everything we can to see the Greensburg comes back, moves forward.”
