Now we turn to the price of gas in this country. Climbing fast once again. According to AAA 미국 자동차 협회, the nationwide average for Regular Unleaded 보통 무연 휘발유 now stands at 3.04 a gallon compared that to just a month ago when the price stood at 2.76. That’s a 0.28 cent per gallon jump. Our report from where the rubber meets the road tonight from NBC’s John Larson.

 

When prices skyrocketed 급등하다 a year ago, Pamela Magee stopped driving her car and began van pooling. Good morning. With the nation’s highest prices in the Bay Area today, she’s looking like a genius. “And now, I’m saving $200.”

 

But not everyone’s like her. Despite near record prices, the US government reported today American’s demand for gas remained strong. Consumption up over a year ago. Seattle 3.43. Chicago 3.47. San Francisco 4.33. “Let’s see. Gas hike no end in sight.”

 

Oil watchdog 감시 groups say profits for the refining part of companies like Exxon and Chevron are way 훨씬, 월등히 up. “All of the refiners are making more money than ever.” Oil companies say refinery accidents and repairs have caused the latest jump at the pump <주유소의> 주유펌프.
