And good morning to you Matt and Anne and good morning, everyone. And we begin with President Bush this morning, falling ill with a stomach bug 위염 at the G-8 summit in Germany. NBC’s White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell is there. Good morning, Kelly. Good morning. The President’s advisors 고문 say he’s “very much under the weather 몸이 편치 않아.” But whatever the stomach trouble is, they say, it’s not serious. What is unusual after more than six years in office and a grinding 힘든, 몹시 괴로운 public schedule, the President has never missed a public event due to ~때문에 illness until today.

 

The first indication 징조, 조짐 something was wrong came when the new French President Nicolas Sarkozy approached waiting cameras alone. He and President Bush were supposed to be there together. “Where is President Bush?” In French, Sarkozy surprised reporters when he said the President’s spokesman will “update you on his condition.”

 

And a short time later, councilor 고문관 to the President Dan Barlett explained off camera saying, ‘I’m not sure if it’s a stomach virus yet or if it’s something like that.” Then Barlett kidded, ‘I guess he didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of ~의 뒤를 따르다 his father in Asia.’ That refers to ~를 가리키다 an embarrassing moment for the elder President Bush back in 1992 when he became ill in public 공중 앞에서 at a dinner with Japan’s Prime Minister 총리.

 

Today, the President missed this meeting where G-8 leaders talked about aid to Africa and agreed to commit <돈을> ~에 충당하다 $60 billion to fight HIV AIDS. Half way through the day, advisors say the President was feeling better and rejoined meetings. But aides <대통령의> 보좌관 say he’s still not 100%.
