Good evening. Across the central part of this country tonight, there are prayers 기도, 기원 for clear skies and an end to the rain that’s causing some of the worst flooding in a century. The death toll has climbed to 25 across the Midwest and damage estimates are tens of millions of dollars and rising.

 

Flood Watches and Warnings remain in effect 실시중인 from South Dakota to Ohio tonight. the rainfall 강우량 has been relentless 심한, 끊임없는. The rising waters are washing away lives and entire towns. In Ohio, the governor 주지사 has declared 선언, 공표하다 a state of emergency. Hardest hit with the town of Findlay. ABC’s Eric Hong is there. Eric? Elizabeth? Many of the flooded out 물난리를 만난, 홍수로 대피한 buildings here in downtown Findlay are more than 125 years old. Tonight, the heart of this town is underwater and many of its residents are in shelters 피난처, 대피호.

 

Today, the entire town of Findlay, Ohio was swallowed up. Bringing life here to a halt 중단시키다. “I’ve been here for 20 some years living in Findlay and haven’t seen anything even close to this.” Residents who spent the lifetime here struggle to keep historic buildings dry. But the water came up too high. Ohio’s governor toured the devastation 황폐 by helicopter while rescuers ventured out by boat. The only way to reach residents stranded 오도가도 못하다 in their homes.

 

More than 100 people in Findlay were pulled to safety. Others escaped ant way they could. “I mean you can’t go anywhere in the city of Findlay and drive through a road, I mean, all street, I mean, I mean, every street and road.”
