Prices have already risen more than 30 cents in just the last two months. And they’re not done rising. Late today, the government said expect another 10-15 cents in the coming weeks. In Sarasota, Florida today they’re already reporting an all-time 전대미문의 high, well above a $3 a gallon.

 

All driven by those oil prices above the $90 mark for nearly a month now. It’s a toll 희생, 손해 now being felt by the consumer. Gasoline accounts for ~ 차지하다 nearly 5% of the average household 가구 budget. Though that might sound small, as the price of gas goes up, the impact on the American family grows quickly.

 

Last year, the average American household burned 1,280 gallons of gas, spending more than $3,200. That same year’s worth of fuel at the price the government is now predicting, would cost $4,100. That’s $800 more. Enough money for groceries 식료 잡화류 for the average household for 3 months, or nearly 2 Dell laptops for the kids. And $800 is what the average American spends on the holidays, the cards, the food, the gifts.

 

And analysts say expect cutbacks 축소, 삭감 at other areas as well. Like eating out. The most affected? Mid-priced restaurants chains like Chili’s and Apple Bees. And at the mall, middle of the road retailers will be hit hardest as well. JC Penny’s and Gap have already shown declines.
