Happy Thanksgiving Holiday

 

From America’s newsroom, I’m Heather Nauert. Today, President Bush spoke to troops overseas speaking to some of the men and women in uniform. He says it’s the least that he could do. The White House reports that he called…the President called service members who are stationed 주둔시키다 around the globe to wish them a happy holiday and to thank them for our nation’s service.

 

A top Iranian diplomat 외교관 calling on 요구하다 the UN Security Council <유엔의> 안전보장 이사회 to close the books 마감하다 on his nation’s nuclear program. He says Tehran is opening up 기밀을 털어놓다 about its ambitions, but Washington says that Iran is dragging its feet 일부러 늑장부리다 and could face more sanctions 제재 if it doesn’t meet international demands to suspend uranium enrichment.

 

Around the world in 80 seconds

 

Well, it’s time to take another spin, this one… around the world in 80 seconds. Germany. A tense <상황 등이> 긴박한 hostage 인질 situation in Berlin’s train station. One man holds another at knife-point 칼을 들이대고 threatening to kill him in front of police. After 2 hours, the cops had had enough, rushing the suspect and pinning ~을 ~에 꼼짝 못하게 누르다 him to the floor. The hostage escaping without injury.

 

The Philippines. 2 fugitives 도망자 wanted 지명수배의 in the US under arrest. 1 man suspected of molesting <여자·어린이를> 성희롱하다, 강간하다 2 minors 미성년자 in Hawaii, the other accused of murdering a woman and her unborn child in Seattle 27 years ago. Both men expected to be extradited <외국의 도주 범인을 본국에> 넘겨주다, 송환하다 back to the States.

After a bit of delay, security forced the demonstrators 시위 참가자 out the door and the conference 회의, 회담 continued as planned.

 

South Korea. 1,500 people coming together for the inaugural 개시의, 개회의 conference of the world toilet association. The organization founded 설립하다 to improve sanitation 공중위생 of toilets worldwide and to promote sustainable 고갈됨 없이 이용할 수 있는 water management.
