And overseas, thousands of lives could be in danger as lave and ash pour 붇다, 쏟다 from Indonesia’s most dangerous volcano. ABC’s Nick Kurt reports, many villagers are refusing to evacuate 피난하다. This morning, the mountain spewed ominous 불길한 gray smoke. Yesterday, Code Red was declared on Merapi which means mountain of fire.

 

Merapi has been rumbling 우르르 울리다 for weeks. But on Saturday, volcanologists 화산학자 recorded 27 tremors 미진 and warned of imminent 닥쳐올 같은 eruption. 14,000 people live within 5 miles of the crater 분화구, many are reluctant to leave. Many here worship 숭배하다 Merapi and say the mountain would warn them with a magical sign before erupting.

 

In 1994, Merapi belched 분출하다 a cloud of searing 타는듯한 gas that killed 60 people. The most deadly eruption was back in 1930 when 1300 lost their lives. For Good Morning America, Nick Kurt, ABC News, London.
