But we’re gonna begin with that breaking news. Britain’s Prince Harry headed home from fighting in Afghanistan. NBC’s Ned Colt is at Buckinghma Palace. Ned, good morning to you.
His fellow soldiers jokingly call Harry the bullet magnet for his potential to attract dangerous attention from the Taliban. The prince has been on the frontline in troubled Helmand Province for 2 ½ months. Out on foot patrol 순찰, 정찰 and using his call sign widow 67 to call in air strikes 공습 on Taliban positions.
At times, he shot at the enemy in trenches 참호, 방어진지 just 1,500 feet away. Fires’ been coming and going day and night. Harry had been slated to 예정하다, 계획하다 deploy to Iraq last year. But all the publicity and threats from Al-Qaeda made that impossible.
He only got to Afghanistan because the media pledged to keep it quiet to allow him to be regular army. “You do the job. Everyone is the same. Everyone’s life is as important as everybody else is.”
A dose of humility and the real world for a royal. As for his safety, his older brother William told Matt last year, there’s a trade-off <타협을 위한> 거래. Do you worry? “Of course, I worry.” It’s certainly what Lieutenant Harry Wales has always wanted. “It’s very nice to be a sort of a normal person.”
