러시아 우주선 소유즈호 위험한 귀환 분석

On the ground in Kazakhstan Saturday, a scorched , 그을은 Soyuz spacecraft, its antenna burned off, the crew including American Peggy Whitson had to call recovery teams with a satellite 위성 phone after crash-landing 불시착 300 miles off course and starting a brush fire 덤블 숲의 화재.

What happened? “They were being pointed in the wrong direction into the atmosphere 대기. If they continued all the way into entry, the flames would’ve burned through the front end of the cabin 조종실 and then all have died.”

Here’s why. Rather than entering the atmosphere bottom first with its heat shield <우주선의> 차단제, it now appears Soyuz may have begun reentry <인공 위성·로켓 대기권에의> 재돌입 nose or hatch 출입구 first after the command module <우주선의> 사령선 failed to disconnect from ~로부터 분리하다 the service module 보조 우주선.

It was only after violent aerodynamic forces <항공> 공기력 pulled the spacecraft apart that Soyuz finally corrected its reentry position. But by then 그때까지는, it was falling far steeper and faster than it was supposed to. Possibly exposing the crew to a crushing 박살내는 10 Gs <항공>대지속도, twice what’s normal.

They emerged shaken, but unhurt. Though Whitson is still recovering from 6 months in orbit 궤도 위에. “I’m feeling much better every day. It’s getting better. So I’ll be alright.” But it’s a second time in 6 months that Soyuz has failed to separate on reentry. Last October, another capsule landed 100 miles off course.
