Today you can hear the rage 분노 over high gas prices in Washington D.C. with this convoy 호송, 호위 of protesting truckers. And also at gas stations across the country. “It’s outrageous. I don’t know what to say.” And the outlook 예측, 전망 for the next few weeks is not pretty, either. We all know that the oil needed to make gas is getting more expensive briefly 간단히 말해서 hitting a record today.
But check out this chart. While crude oil has gone up from about $66 a barrel to almost $119, 80% over the last year. Compare that to gas which has gone from $2.71 a gallon to $3.60, 33%.
That’s because of excess 초과 gas inventories 재고량 at US refineries 정제소 which has been keeping prices low. But as that inventory dwindles 점차 감소하다 and the summer driving season sets in 시작되다, that will change.
