According to today’s numbers, gas is now officially over $4 a gallon in Chicago and it’s pretty darn <구어, 완곡> damn close in Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, San Francisco, Cleveland, and New York City. The angst 불안, 걱정 and anger over these prices has the politicians in Washington on high alert 경계태세에 hauling 연행하다, 소환하다 big oil executives 경영진, 중역 before the judiciary committee 법사 위원회 this Wednesday.

 

Today, the oil industry was playing defense. “There’s no question it’s a burden <마음> 부담, 걱정 on consumers. And what the industry is doing is working very hard to find more energy, working very hard to supply energy as cheaply as possible.” Also today, the White House criticized 비난하다 Congress 연방의회 for not doing enough to ease 완화시키다, 덜다 the pain. “Going from Band-Aid 임시 수단, 미봉책 to Band-Aid that they think will have an impact, but really won’t.”

 

The pain is being felt all over the country.
