For more than a week now, since it was touched off by lightning 번개, the Big Sur 캘리포니아 서부의 명승지 fire has been burning almost unchecked 저지<억제>되지 않은. Along the steep 가파른 slopes 경사 of the California coastal mountain. It’s only 3% contained ~ 억제하다 and fire officials concede 시인하다 they’ve got their hands full.

 

In Big Sur, 19 structures including homes have burned to the ground. Statewide, the total is 50 buildings destroyed. Hundreds of people living in the path of the Big Sur fire are preparing to get out of the way. Among them, Lauren Chamberlain and her daughter Molly who have a summer cabin 통나무집 here.

 

Smoke from the California fires has made air quality unhealthful in major portions of the state. Over the weekend, people in Fremont, California were smelling and feeling it. “I definitely considered staying indoors today because of the quality of the air, and just you know, I don’t want my problems to get worse.

 

Normally this scenic 경치가 좋은 stretch of the California coast highway would be filled with tourists, but now cars are being turned back on both sides of Big Sur as the fire rages on 맹위를 떨치다. Any hope for containment 봉쇄, 억제 some weeks away.
