From NBC News, this is TODAY with Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira, live from studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza. Hey, good morning to you. Matt. That’s right and I recently visited California’s Silicone Valley and a new high-tech startup, no not computers, it’s a car company and all they want to do is change the world, that is if the highway patrol 순찰대 doesn’t stop them first.

An electric sports car? That’s right. Leave your Porsches or Ferraris to grandma. Presenting the 21st century, Tesla Roadster. This is no hybrid. It’s zero emissions 배기, 배출. The only thing coming out of this car is the tunes on your stereo.

Martin Everheart is a maverick in the auto industry. A Silicone Valley engineer who’s trying to teach Detroit a thing or two about cars. Powerful lithium-ion 리튬 이온 batteries push the Tesla from 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds. They charge up 충전하다 in just 3 ½ hours and they stay powered for over 250 miles.

You too can preorder one nicely equipped for around oh, $100,000. But price aside ~ 접어두고, are Americans really ready for a completely electric car? Some already are. Take the traffic friendly Tango made by Washington-based commuter cars. George Clooney drives one.

And if you saw last summer’s hit doc <속어> 다큐멘터리, Who Killed the Electric Car, you know how people love GM’s short-lived EV1. The film’s director Chris Paine drives an electric Toyota while he waits for his Tesla. How much is this car worth? “Well, this is a hand-made prototype 원형, 견본. It’s maybe $300,000” And you’re actually gonna let me drive it? “Sure.” My husband will tell you you’re crazy. “Floor <가속 페달> 힘껏 밟다 it.” Love it.
