We’re talking about the economy of course and President Bush and world leaders, they are vowing 맹세하다, 단언하다 to work together to find solutions to the global financial crisis. But the president warned it will take time to see results of their actions. Bush appeared at a meeting of the G20 last night.

 

The group includes both industrialized 산업화된 and developing nations 개발도상 국가들 like China. Meanwhile the International Monetary Fund 국제통화기금 backed up that pledge 언질, 공약 to do anything possible to fix the world’s economies. The group started its fall meeting yesterday.

 

France and Germany agree they won’t take up anything similar to the US bailout 구제금융 plan. Both will be part of a meeting this morning between the 15 countries that use the Euro. The group will try to come up with ~ 제안하다 a coordinated response to the financial crisis. So far European nations have reacted to the crisis only on a case-by-case basis.

 

The president of the World Bank says the impact of the current financial crisis could be life-long for the poor. The World Bank focuses on long term aid for troubled countries. The group started its fall meeting yesterday.

 

Yesterday we first told you about reported merger talks between auto-making giants General Motors and Chrysler. Well, some analysts say a merger <흡수> 합병 really wouldn’t solve anything. But what do the auto workers think about a possible deal? Brooke Baldwin talks with folks in one town whose economy centers around its auto plants.
