BBC 특집, 이라크 주둔 미군 일반인 학살
The conduct of American troops in Iraq is in the spotlight once again. The United States military has told the BBC, is investigating an incident in Iraq in which 11 people, including women and children, may have been deliberately 고의로 killed by American troops. At the time, the US said only 4 people were killed. But video evidence given to the BBC by an anti-coalition group 반연합군 단체 shows a large number of bodies 시체 which appear to have been shot.
The cameramen who filmed these pictures arrived on the scene so quickly that the fires inside the house were still burning. There were bullet holes everywhere. And when the cameramen went inside the house, you can see bullet marks on the walls as well. This seems to have been the room where in the story which the local people and the Iraqi police told the 11 members of the family were killed.
All this happened in the town of Ishaqi, 60 miles north of Baghdad. The raid began after a tip-off 비밀정보 that an Al-Qaeda supporter was visiting the house. American troops and helicopters arrived and the firefight apparently <확실하진 않지만> ~인 것 같다 started. The Americans say the building collapsed <건물 등이> 무너지다 under heavy fire and the 4 bodies were found in the rubble 파편, 조각.
But the Iraqi police version is very different. They say the Americans entered the house while it was still standing and killed all 11 people, including the three children. Only then, was the house destroyed.
A police officer at the hospital where the bodies were taken said all of them, from the 75-year-old grandmother to the 6-month-old baby, had bullet wounds to the head and stomach. They were killed first, then bombed, he said. American military sources say this is one of 3 or 4 cases they’re investigating. The line is quite clear. “The coalition does not and it will not tolerate any unethical or criminal behavior. Any allegations <충분한 증거가 없는> 주장 of such activities will be fully investigated and any members found, if committed 저지르다 these violations, will be held accountable ~의 책임을 ~에게 지우다.”
Still Iraqi civilians are killed with great frequency 빈번. Yesterday in Samara, American soldiers shot and killed a heavily pregnant woman and her mother. She got into labor 진통 and was being rushed to hospital by car. The driver got in the wrong lane at a checkpoint 검문소.
