In this teaming gateway to Pakistan’s tribal areas, look at what’s for sale. Stolen supplies for American troops. A pair of Binoculars 쌍안경, army uniforms, even a family photo, all looted 약탈하다 off US supply trucks destined for Afghanistan. More than 80% of the equipment for the war in Afghanistan goes through Pakistan. Landing in a port of Karachi, then driven across the border.

And the supply line has never been more exposed. US Humbees are attacked. NATO fuel trucks are torched 불을 지르다. And just this week, members of the Taliban took joy rides in American Humbees after stealing 12 trucks full of US supplies without firing the single shot. “The Taliban increasingly recognizes that this is a vulnerability 취약성 of the NATO and American forces. And increasingly focused on the supply line is the best way to make life miserable for the American and NATO troops there.”

It’s beyond this point where the supply trucks are the most vulnerable. This is the edge of tribal 부족의, 종족의 districts. The area for the Taliban and Al Qaeda are the strongest here. And in the last few months, the militants have been threatening truck drivers with death unless they stop helping the Americans.

Larggi Acbarowou was shot by the Taliban for driving NATO jet fuel into Afghanistan. Now he can’t use his right leg. Here, it’s popular to target Americans and the people who help them. Pakistan’s government says unless the US stops its attacks inside Pakistan, it will loose the support of the people and its supply line. But with no other way to bringing supplies, the Americans are stuck. And everyday, equipment destined for the battle field ends up for sale. Nick Shifron, ABC News, Peshawar.
