Good morning. From CBS News headquarters in New York, this is Up to the Minute. I’m Meg Oliver. The astronauts on board ~ 탑승하여 the Space Shuttle 우주 왕복선 Endeavor are back home after their trip to the International Space Station. CBS’s Drew Levinson reports their 16-day mission was successful even if reentry 재돌입, 귀환 didn’t go exactly as planned.

The space shuttle made a detour 우회하다 Sunday to California. Bad weather in Florida forced NASA to wave off 거부하다 both attempts at the Kennedy Space Center and land Endeavor at Edwards Air force base 캘리포니아주 소재. Welcome back. It’s great to be back on the ground and it’s great to be in California.

The astronauts accomplished a lot up there on the International Space Station. They doubled the size of the sleeping quarters, installed a refrigerator. But from the beginning, it was something called the urine 소변 processor 처리장치, 프로세서 that got most of the attention. The system that turns urine into drinking water needed a plumber’s helper <기계> 플런저, 흡인식 하수관 청소기. After three failures, the unit was finally up and going. And there was joy on earth and in space. “We had our first sample come out of the……come of the urine processor and we’re calling that…. we’re calling that…. yesterday’s coffee.”

Things didn’t go as expected outside the station, either. During a spacewalk, the grease gun 윤활유<그리스> 주입기 inside astronaut HeidiMarie Stefanyshyn-Piper’s tool bag leaked 새다. As she tried to clean it up, the whole bag drifted away. Somewhere, there’s $100,000 worth of tools floating in space. In the end, all the tasks of building and repairing and cleaning got done. And the crew, home and safe, mission accomplished. Drew Levinson, CBS News, the Kennedy Space Center.
