Hello and welcome to the midday edition of Arirang news. I’m Kang MinJi. We first turn to the World Cup tournament in Germany. Korea beat Togo 2 to 1 in the group G opening match in Frankfurt. Korea’s victory is the first by an Asian country at the tournament after Japan and Iran were defeated in their first matches. South Korea now leads group G ahead of France and Switzerland.
Now for the millions of fans here who took to the crazy streets to root for 응원하다 the Korean team. It was time well spent. Our Nam Ki yung was at those outdoor rallies 집회, 다시 모임 to bring us this report.

Some eager fans gathered in and around Seoul's City Hall, as early as six hours before the match officially kicked off 시작하다.
