In Fresno, California, two police officers are on desk duty as they are being investigated because of a beating incident caught on video tape. NBC’s Chris Jinxing reports.

 

This exclusive 단독의 video obtained by NBC affiliate KSEE TV shows Fresno police officers punching a 52-year-old homeless man named Glen Baddy. The incident happened Monday morning and was caught on tape by this man who refused to be identified fearing for his safety. “And they grabbed him and threw him to the ground like that and…I saw him being brutally beaten.”

 

The man says he arrived at the scene after the incident began. But his tape shows one of the officers repeatedly punching Baddy after he was partially restrained 검거하다. Another punch thrown even after baddy’s hands were behind his back. “What we have to do in terms of our investigation is to look at what led up to <사건 따위가> ~ 연관되다 this, the striking of the suspect in the face.”

 

After reviewing the police report, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says that what’s not on the tape could be most important. “There was resistance. And at some point, there was an altercation 격론, 언쟁 that occurred between the suspect and the officers. One of the officers was punched by the suspect in the arm.” Baddy was taken into a local hospital. The two officers involved have been put on desk duty while the investigation continues.
