미 동부 폭설

CBS Up To the Minute

Good morning, it’s Monday March 2nd from CBS news in New York City. I am Meg Oliver. An ugly winter storm is bearing down on 을 압박하다 the east coast. It’s expected to drop more than a foot of snow before it’s done. This morning alone.. up to 7 inches our forecast in parts of Marilyand, Virginia and Washington DC. This storm came up from the south where it left a rare cut of snow this weekend. CBS’s Kerin Brown reports!

Winter’s worst is on its way for folks living along the east coast! “I’ll tell you what… cold, rainy, icy?” And this is in Atlanta, a place not known for snow! “Well, you know, we always say it’s gonna snow in Atlanta and it never snows in Atlanta!” But the way this storm system began was no joke. It spawned 낳다 at least 3 tornadoes in Alabama, ripping through homes and a church!

In Tennessee, accidents left motorists stranded 꼼짝 못하게 하다 on this Interstate for 14 hours. Now the storm is moving north along the I-95 corridor 주요 수송 경로, heading for Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. “We are going to be looking at a widespread range of 4 to 8, if not 6 to 12 inches of snow accumulating for those major cities” City workers are hard at works spreading salt and sand in plowing loads. In Maryland, the governor is watching the snow’s drop in the city command center! It’s costing his state 250,000 dollars an hour to keep the roads clear. “No, I don’t like snow, snow costs taxpayers dollars.” And it will cost them too in patience in time. Forcasters expect the morning commute to be messy both on the ground and in the skies, Kerin Brown CBS News New York.

Good morning, storm of the season! Winter storm warning stretch of North Carolina to New England with well over a foot of snow expected in some spots! 100s of flights are cancelled. Schools are closed and all up and down the east coast, it’s gonna be one messy commute today! March 2nd 2009. From NBC News, this is Today with Matt Lauer and Meridith Vieira, Live from Studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza.

And good morning, welcome to Today on a Monday morning and I’m Matt Lauer, I’m Meridith Vieira. This is a big storm, it’s a powerful storm. It’s moving fast. It was snowing about an inch to three inches per hour in some places. Lot of locations waking up to ten inches or a foot of snow. This after this same storm dumps snow in parts of the deep south that certainly are not used to seeing it! And it is not over yet. The second wave started to hit the mid Atlantic states as we check out a beautiful shot of this snowy White House! We have that guys?
