2009. 4. 12 : Wall Street Journal Report from New York

Hi, everybody? Welcome to the Wall Street Journal Report. I’m Maria Bartiromo. Earning season sets to kick off in full gear. A deal in the housing industry and the government opened its wallet to help a new sector. What to expect and what it could mean to your portfolio. I’ll go one-on-one with a major political leader in Europe. The man who some say will be the next Prime Minister of England. His remarkable rise and what it could mean for America. And don’t look now, but vacation season will soon be here. The Wall Street Journal Report begins right now.

This is America’s number one financial news program. The Wall Street Journal Report. Now Maria Bartiromo. Here’s a look at what’s making news as we head into a new week on Wall Street. The Federal Reserve released the minutes초고 의사록 from the March meeting. The Fed said that a recovery would take longer than it previously had predicted, and that unemployment would remain high until at least 2010. The Fed also said interest rates would remain low for the foreseeable future가까운 장래에, 당분간.

It was a holiday-shortened week on Wall Street. The markets broke their 4-day winning streak 줄무늬 on Monday, though, on concerns about the banking sector. The markets fell on Tuesday and spiked on Wednesday. On Thursday, the markets rose. And of course, the markets were closed Friday. Up next, on the Wall Street Journal Report, the man, many say, could be the United Kingdom’s next Prime Minister. I spoke to British opposition leader David Cameron about the work of the G20 and plans for a stimulus overseas. And then the summer travel season is approaching. We’ll find out how to see the world without breaking the bank. As we take the break, take a look at how the stock market ended the week.
