Tonight across a 5 state area, there are states of emergency 비상사태 declared in 80 separate counties. So far the storm has taken at least 11 lives along the way. In the area surrounding Wilks-Barre, Pennsylvania tonight, upwards of ~보다 이상 200,000 people have been ordered to evacuate 피난하다 it as a precaution 예방조치 as the Susquehanna River is on the rise. To the south along the Schuylkill River in Reading, PA tonight, they are watching the water as well. That’s where we’ll begin. NBC’s Lisa Denial’s standing by for us there tonight. Lisa? Good evening, Brian? Behind me is a Schuylkill River which is about 20 feet above its normal level. It began flooding on Sunday and really hasn’t stopped since. Now the good news is officials believe this is the highest the river will get. But as you mentioned, over in Wilks-Barre, Pennsylvania about 85 miles from where we’re standing, mandatory 의무적인, 강제적인 evacuations are now in effect. All of this happening as the northeast continues to struggle with water simply everywhere.

 

The evacuation in Wilks-Barre is just the latest concern after 4 days of heavy rain in the northeast.
