하반기 한국경제 전망

Prices continue to rise in South Korea and the release 발표 of the June inflation report today’s expected to show that. Analysts are forecasting an acceleration 가속 to 2.8% and that would be its highest level in 5 months. Economists are not expecting inflation to abate <세력, 심한 정도가>줄다, 경감되다 in the coming months as BBC’s Lawrence Ong reports.

Another way to attract shopper’s attention, South Koreans are spending more these days along with higher oil prices, rising domestic spending is pushing the cost of most products and services higher. Somethings maybe on sale right now, but consumers should not be surprised if inflation rises to between 3 and 4% in the second half of this year. A rise in prices is worrisome.

What happened here is another major concern for consumers. The Bank of Korea has pushed interest rates 금리, 이율 to a 3-year high of 4.25%. The rate hike 인상, 상승 in June was the country’s 4th in less than a year. An indication 암시, 조짐 of the BOK’s confidence in the economy.

The central bank is now less optimistic 낙관적인 about the economy, believing that growth this year may not hit its earlier forecast of 5%. It blamed higher oil prices as well as the one strength which is hurting exporters. These are risks. They are also putting pressure on private consumption which is increasingly playing a crucial 중대한 supporting role in the Korean economy. Lawrence Ong, BBC News.
