And good evening, everyone. Even after death, Michael Jackson is speaking, letting his wishes be known for his fortune and his children. And a will filed today in a Los Angeles court. And there are a few surprises including the celebrity who could wind up raising Jackson’s daughter and sons. From Los Angeles tonight, Van Tracey begins our coverage.

 

Just three months after this 2002 performance in New York, Michael Jackson signed his will made public today it gives all of Jackson’s assets estimated at more than $ 500 million to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. It would have to pay his debts believed to be more than $ 300 million. The remaining money is said to be split among his mother, his children, and a charity. Jackson names his mom, Katherine, guardian of his children. But there is this bombshell. If she is unable to care for them, they go to Diana Ross. Jackson’s long time friend and costar from the 1978 musical “The Wiz.” “When he first moved to Los Angeles, he moved into Diana Ross’s mansion and lived with her and she helped to raise Michael Jackson.”
