The Affair of Honor – Today’s History
And on this day in 1804, a nasty political rival turns deadly when vice president Arron Burr shoots Alexander Hamilton in a duel결투. But the relationship turned especially sour in the run up준비단계to the NY governor’s race which Burr lost mainly due to Hamilton! So to regain his honor, Burr challenged him to an affair of honor결투. They met at 7 AM in Wihiekon, New Jersey. Both aimed and fired, but only one remained standing 205 years ago today!
Noodling – Fishing -
DO you like fish? Well, how would you feel about it, if you had to use your own hand as bait? We’re gonna take a live look at what you might call an extreme sports. This… you gotta see to believe. Well, my favorite story today…sort of. Some folks in Oklahoma diving into the water to catch fish with their bare hands. IT’s a sport in the southern US. It’s called “noodling” or wrestling really! And it involves getting into usually shallow water finding hiding places for catfish! Then using your hands as bait to lure the big guy out of their holes, but this can be a dangerous sport! One guy says a fish tried to swallow his leg whole.
July Christmas?
Christmas in July! It’s never due early to start in Christmas shopping, I guess, at least what Sears is banking on! Both Sears and K Marts setting up their Christmas section in stores all across the country right now! They’re hoping to entice유혹하다 people to start their holiday shopping early. They are dangling유혹물을 달랑거려 보이다 their new layaway대금적립구입 plans as bait! Sears and K Mart are also opening their holiday online store. We’re gonna find all kinds of holiday. It’s all about getting people to start spending again after several months of disappointing sales figures. So, Merry Christmas everyone!
Earthquake in the West Coast
Quake near San Diego this morning! A sign of bigger things to come. Well, that’s what some scientists are looking into, after a 4.0 quake hit off the coast of San Diego this morning! The quake was 22 miles west of Coronado. It was felt, it was felt across San Diego county rather! But no major damages or injuries! Some scientists saying that a string of smaller quakes like this just discovered deep inside the San Andria’s fault단층 could be an indicator of bigger quake coming! In 1994, there was that huge 6.7 quake in Northridge California where buildings crumbled and freeways collapsed. 72 people died! Scientists are now hoping to learn possible signs of an approaching quake to warn residents in the future.
