Good evening? It has been another bad day in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinians refuse any notion 의지, 의향 of releasing 석방하다 the Israeli soldier whose kidnapping 유괴 has set off 일으키다 this crisis and Israeli air strikes 공습 have left 8 Palestinians dead. The worry now is that with both sides refusing to give an inch 양보하다, 고집을 꺾다, the region may be on the verge of ~하기 직전에 a deadly showdown 결판 in some of the worst fighting yet. Well, news of those Israeli air strikes spread very quickly through Gaza, sending hundreds of Palestinians to the hospital, anxious to find out if any of their friends or relatives were among the casualties 사상자, 피해자. The wounded 부상자 arrived amidst ~이 한창일 때에 a frenzy 격분, 광포 of emotion at Gaza’s main hospital. Victims of 2 air strikes that, the Israeli army says, targeted Palestinian militants 저항세력.
At least, 4 were killed and 2, including this man, critically 위태롭게 injured. Amongst the wounded, this young boy, one of 3 children, who suffered shrapnel 유산탄 wounds. The situation at the hospital is getting more and more tense 긴박한 as one casualty after another is brought in. One doctor told me it was the worst situation he’d seen in 40 years.
Hamas political leader, Khaled mashaal, demanded Israel swap 교환하다 prisoners in exchange for ~와 교환으로 their soldier’s freedom. But the Israeli Prime Minister 총리 was adamant 단호한. That would never happen. “I will not negotiate with Hamas.” Palestinian sympathizers 지지자 took to the streets of the Syrian capital where some pledged 맹세하다 to sacrifice their own lives. There are reports that the Israeli army is planning to launch 착수하다, 일으키다 another large-scale offensive 공격, 공세 deep into Palestinian territory. Bob?
