Welcome to World News. Tonight, terror attack! Suicide bombers strike two popular hotels in Indonesia. Nine are killed and dozens including Americans are injured. From ABC News headquarters, this is World News with Charles Gibson, reporting tonight Elizabeth Vargas.
Good evening. The deadly explosions at the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta occurred just two minutes apart. Just before eight in the morning, the lobbies were crowded with foreign tourists having breakfast and business people gathered for morning meetings. Nine people were killed and dozens more were injured including nine Americans. The attacks ended four years of relative calm in Indonesia which has a world’s largest Muslim population. President Obama who has lived in Indonesia called the attacks outrageous. Clarissa Ward is in Jakarta tonight.

Police here now believed that the suspected bombers were actually guests in this hotel, the JW Marriott, and that they detonated their bombs using home-made explosives that police found in their rooms No.1808. The Marriott’s surveillance camera captured the final moments, leading to the deadly attack. A man pulling his suitcase before a blinding눈을 멀게하는 blast and gas running for cover. Minutes later, a second blast ripped through the neighboring Ritz-Carlton hotel destroying the restaurant. Green apples and glass littered at the floor. Emergency workers rushed to the scene where they tended간호하다 the wounded and the dying. Among the injured, nine Americans.

This is the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Good evening, everyone. The attacks were well planned and quite possibly meant to undermine Indonesia’s pro-American president who’s made his name fighting terrorists in his country. Authorities say suicide bombers posing as guests set off blasts at two American luxury hotels in Jakarta. At least eight people were killed. More than 50 others were wounded including eight Americans. An Indonesian terror network with links to Al Qaeda is suspected. Now that network was behind a deadly bombing at one of the same hotels six years ago. President Obama who lived in Indonesia as a child condemned what he called outrageous attacks.
