전세계인의 합창 Stand By Me

And the global chorus. Bringing the world together. Its members are our persons of the week. From ABC News headquarters, this is World News with Charles Gibson. Finally tonight, our persons of the week. They are singers, musicians, talented artists from all over the world, working apart, but in harmony. They have become an Internet sensation and the fusing융합 of their sounds is in itself pretty sensational.

“This song says….no matter who you are, no matter where you go in your life, at some point, you’re gonna need somebody to stand by you.” In Santa Monica, California, Mark Johnson filmed legendary street singer Roger Wadley’s rendition연주 of Ben E. king’s Stand by Me.”Oh, Yeah, Oh My Darling Stand by Me!” Then Mark took his show on the road. “No, I won’t be afraid!” In New Orleans, he recorded Grandpa Eliot and added a washboard빨래판 to the mix. “Darling Darling, Stand by Me, Ohh, stand by me, Ohh, stand, stand by me, come on stand by me”

In the Netherlands, more vocals. “If the sky that look upon, when I should tumble….” Zuni, New Mexico, drums. From Russia, a cello. In Italy, an alto sax. Spain, congos. And in South Africa, a swaying지휘하는 quire합창단. Along the way, mark formed a non-profit foundation playing for change which funds music schools around the world. The first just opened in South Africa. And he made an album with a number of songs from his global jam. This video itself has had more than 20 million views on YouTube. “Completely different societies, but the center is the same. The human heart is… in the power of the human spirit is the most important thing that I learned around the world is that. That is the one thing that we share and it’s the thing that can really inspire us to lead the world a better place that we’ve found!”

And so we choose Mark Johnson and all the musicians involved with playing for change. Songs around the world has already sold more than 100,000 copies in this country and other 45,000 overseas, and it’s just getting started. If anything speaks to the fact that music is an international language. That is it. And that is World News for this Friday. I’m Charlie Gibson. And I hope you had a good day. For all of us at ABC News, have a great weekend.
