Bush looks to G-8 Summit

From NBC News, this is TODAY with Matt Lauder and Anne Curry, live from Rockefeller Plaza. The Chinese sent a delegation 대표단 into North Korea yesterday. The Chinese are opposing any sanctions 제재조치 at the United Nations and the South Koreans are opposing any sanctions against North Korea.

 

Japan is very worried about this situation, being so close to North Korea and there’s now discussion in Japan, Anne, about a preemptive strike 선제공격 by Japan against the missiles of North Korea. So it is going to be a real test of diplomacy 외교 in the coming days to resolve 해결하다 that.

The Iranians are meeting with the European Union today. They’re trying to delay their response pass this weekend’s meeting of the G-8 because they don’t want it to be a subject of discussion, their rejection or acceptance. The president is pushing very, very hard to have an Iranian response. But right now, without the strong support of the Russians on Iran and the Chinese on Korea, the president’s in a very difficult position.
