벌거벗은 러시아 푸틴

And the world leader grabbing attention for what he’s not wearing. From ABC News headquarters, this is World News with Charles Gibson. When the going gets tough, the tough go to Siberia and strip down. Russian Prime Minister Bladmir Putin has been on vacation in a rugged region of southern Siberia. And he’s been……Well, he’s been showing a lot of skin. Nick Watt tonight casts a wary eye.

Bladmir Putin can ride a horse without his shirt on. He can drive a boat. He can even do the butterfly. “Every leader uses public relations to convince his voters that he is the best. Look at the French president. Mr. Sarkozi. He’s naked all the time.” Last summer, president Obama was snapped shirtless, but that’s nothing. Putin’s been snapped fish shirtless, hunting shirtless. Most Russians don’t laugh at such vanity자만하는 . They let it up.그냥 놔두다

“What it shows here is that he’s fit, he’s strong, he’s not a drinker. And that’s a problem in Russia. Many men are alcoholic.” Putin’s predecessor Boris Yeltsin was no stranger to the bottle. And in a country where men’s life expectancy is just 59, the 56 years old Puttin’s purposefully public machismo남자의 과시욕 is impressive.  Volleyball. Skiing. Blacksmithing! He rides in submarines and fighter jets. He bowls. He tranquilizes tigers. “A leader of a nation with nuclear weapons can not be a weakling허약자. Complete. It’s…. he’s a tough guy.” Apparently, Putin must take his shirt off to prove to voters he is tough enough. Sometimes, democracy works in very strange ways. Nick Watt, ABC News, London.

At Arlington National Cemetery in Washington today, they commemorated what’s been called the other D-day. August 15th will mark the 65th anniversary of Operation Dragoon. It was the allied invasion of southern France, 2 months after the Normandy invasion of World War II. 900 ships, 1300 landing craft just as many bombers. Almost 100,000 combined troops. They blasted a backdoor to France in effect. And they sped up the liberation of Europe. They took over 100,000 German prisoners along the way. About 35 of the surviving veterans of that great campaign were on hand at Arlington today.
