The Crisis in the Middle East. The battle goes on. Hezbollah Guerillas 게릴라병 fire 발사하다 rockets into northern Israel and Israeli ground troops 지상부대 attack their positions in southern Lebanon. Diplomats 외교관 work behind the scenes 막후에서 to try to arrange 협정하다 a cease-fire 휴전, 정전. But 6 days into the fighting, Israel’s Prime Minister 총리 says there won’t be a cease-fire until Hezbollah returns 2 captured Israeli soldiers.

For the first time in this conflict, Hezbollah hits a residential neighborhood in Israel with rocket fire slamming into an apartment building. As the death toll 사망자수 rises, the United States is getting ready to evacuate 대피시키다 thousands of Americans from Lebanon. This is the CBS Evening News with Bob Shieffer.

Good evening? Hezbollah Guerillas sent more rockets into the northern Israeli city of Haifa and Israel responded with another furious 맹렬한 bomber attack all across Lebanon. The crisis in the Middle East grew even worse today and here is the latest. Casualties 사상자, 피해자 in Lebanon have now passed 200 dead, 400 wounded. Israel counts 24 dead, 12 of them soldiers.
Britain and the UN Head, Coffi Anna, want to put a peace keeping force 평화 유지군 into southern Lebanon and Russia is offering to supply some of the troops. So far, the United States has not signed on to that. But Secretary of State 국무장관, Rice, is planning to visit the region. We have CBS News correspondents deployed 배치하다 throughout the Middle East tonight and our chief foreign correspondent, Lara Logan, is anchoring our coverage from Haifa, Israel which has been under rocket attack from most of the day. Bob? This has been a day of terror for people here and all over in northern Israel. Rockets fired from Lebanon rained down on 빗발치듯 퍼붓다 more than 3 dozen towns and cities, including this one, the 3rd largest city in Israel. It was a day for quick reactions because the warning time was short. The wail 윙윙대는 수리 of air raid siren signaled another attack, forcing people to take cover 숨다, 피난하다 once again. Firefighters here are still trying to put out 끄다 the flames burning inside this building. There’ve been pieces of debris <건물의> 파편, 조각 falling off and they’re worried about a collapsing 무너짐, 붕괴.
