Good evening. Since the invention of the needle, kids have never liked getting shots and that brings us to our lead story tonight. The 251 million doses of flu vaccine ordered by the federal government and the recommendation from the government exactly how many shots are they recommending for children and adults in this confusing flu season with both the swine flu threat and the regular so called seasonal flu.

Good evening. The commanding general in Afghanistan provides a sobering assessment of the situation there. Stanley McChrystal was put in charge of that war by president Obama last May. In a confidential report first obtained by the Washington Post, General McChrystal says the situation in Afghanistan is serious; neither success nor failure can be taken for granted. McChrystal asks for more troops. Without them, he writes, the mission will likely result in failure. It is not at all clear however whether the president agrees.
Tonight, three suspects are in custody in an alleged terror case. But officials say there are more out there and may be planning an attack possibly against New York. I’m Katie Couric. Also tonight, the US commander in Afghanistan warns the war could be lost with out more troops. And Pakistan’s Foreign Minister says the United States must stay the course. “You intend……..You cannot leave without doing the job.” How many doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine will children need?
